Hunger, Nutrition & Health Community Based Organization Innovation Lab
The Hunger, Nutrition & Health National Action Collaborative is a network of U.S. organizations addressing critical issues like food access and affordability, physical activity, nutrition research and food security research. The Action Collaborative brings together government entities, private businesses, foundations, academic institutions, associations and individuals in the collective fight against hunger and hunger-related chronic diseases because no one sector can overcome this complex challenge alone. To build this inclusive network, the CDC Foundation has engaged leaders from ten community-based organizations working to alleviate hunger across the United States. Their strategic leadership and insights are helping ensure the Action Collaborative is community-centered.
The Hunger, Nutrition & Health Community-Based Organization Innovation Lab aims to:
1. Shape a vision for equitable food systems partnerships with CBOs, government, philanthropy, research/academia, and private corporations. Leverage the strength of partners from all sectors, including CBOs, government, philanthropy, research/academia, and private corporations, to end hunger in the United States. Articulate the priorities for the Hunger, Nutrition and Health Action Collaborative. Reach the bi-partisan goal of increasing healthy eating and physical activity to reduce the number of Americans who experience diet-related diseases.
2. Co-develop multisector solutions that address hunger, nutrition, and health, building on the national strategy and commitments. Work collaboratively with partners nationwide to develop solutions to the complex health challenges related to hunger in the U.S.
